What if artificial intelligence (AI) could be used to extend the value and longevity of an artist’s intellectual property, allowing artists and their families to benefit from the artist’s creative legacy for generations?

That is the mission of a new partnership between tech company Legend AI and T&B Media Global, a leading entertainment conglomerate in Asia that specializes in talent management, distributing online content, and providing gaming and immersive experiences. Legend AI and T&B Media Global plan to open up AI-driven talent monetization to artists around the world, but especially in Southeast Asia.

Using AI and the Blockchain to Bring Artists New Revenue Streams

With the growth of generative AI that can create music, images, text, and video, many artists have seen their avenues for monetization suffer through the proliferation of unauthorized creation of AI-generated, lookalike content in their style by unauthorized parties. “Today, anyone can use AI to generate content resembling famous artists with extensive public catalogs, like Drake or Bruno Mars, leaving the artists without a way to monetize these creations,” says Zachary Wang, CEO of Legend AI. While artists can pursue legal options, combatting every instance of unauthorized use, especially on a global scale, simply isn’t practical.

That’s where Legend AI comes in. Legend AI aims to provide a legitimate means for artists to endorse and monetize fan creations that are made in their style, on their own terms. “Advancements in AI technology offer new revenue potentials for talent of all types to continue their legacy and monetize their talent in ways that never existed until now,” Wang explains.

Legend AI provides a blockchain platform on which each piece of content is officially certified by the artist or IP owner. The blockchain guarantees the authenticity of each piece and allows artists—whether visual artists, writers, or musicians—to authorize the use of their art, creating new revenue streams. To accomplish this, Legend AI works with artists to train AI models that capture their unique style. Once trained, artists can generate new content using AI and sell it via the blockchain, or they can license others to create revenue-generating content in their style. Artists can establish an AI-powered digital legacy that continues to generate revenue even after the end of their artistic career or lifetime, allowing their families to monetize their IP for generations.

Creating Opportunities for Artists in SE Asia and Globally

As the first company to offer a blockchain platform for artists, Legend AI aims to define new global benchmarks for protecting an artist’s rights over AI-generated content. Currently, U.S. copyright law and the copyright laws of many other countries do not protect the rights to AI-generated content. That’s where blockchain technology comes in, providing a secure and transparent method for authenticating and securing AI-generated intellectual property.

The partnership with T&B Media Global enables Legend AI to scale its efforts, expanding into markets in Southeast Asia and, ultimately, around the globe. T&B Media Global’s role will be to lead the distribution of AI-generated content and expand the market reach for artists using the Legend AI blockchain.

Looking ahead, Wang and his team at Legend AI hope to demonstrate how today’s and tomorrow’s artists can become not the victims but the innovators of an entertainment industry that is being swiftly rewritten by AI technology.
