The crypto market is diversifying: more and more women are investing in bitcoin
A new wave of female investors is helping to fuel increased demand for crypto assets, such as bitcoin and ethereum.
Good news in the crypto market. The ecosystem begins to diversify around the world. A new wave of female investors is helping to fuel increased demand for crypto assets, such as bitcoin and ethereum.
According to new data from the global investment platform eToro , the percentage of women who are investing in bitcoin and ethereum has increased by 15% and 12% respectively over the last year, up from 10% and 11% in early 2020.
Data released by the international exchange also shows that the average age of investors globally in the top two crypto assets has dropped in recent years. In 2017, the average bitcoin investor was 37 years old. This year, the age has dropped to 35. Something similar happens with ETH: the average age of ethereum investors has dropped from 35 to 32 years during the same period of time.
These shifts and investor diversification come in the weeks that bitcoin’s price hit its all-time high after an incredible bull rally that pushed its price from $ 13,000 in November to more than $ 40,000 last weekend.
Another interesting piece of information provided by the platform is that the number of people who have bitcoins on the exchange at the end of January 2021 compared to the same time of the previous year has more than doubled, with an increase of 106%. Ethereum has followed suit, with a year-on-year increase of 82%.
It should be noted that Ethereum, the second most important cryptocurrency in the crypto ecosystem, has also seen a substantial price increase, reaching an all-time high this week.
