THG Ingenuity Selects BR-DGE to Simplify Compliance and Increase Authorisation Rates

THG Ingenuity Implements BR-DGE Vault to Strengthen Payment Reliability

BR-DGE, the independent payment orchestration provider, has been selected by THG Ingenuity, a leading global e-commerce group, to deploy BR-DGE Vault, its PCI-compliant hybrid tokenisation solution.

The solution will be implemented across more than 250 online stores, helping THG Ingenuity simplify PCI compliance, improve authorisation rates, and ensure stable payment performance during high-volume periods such as Black Friday. BR-DGE Vault also allows the company to adapt seamlessly to evolving payment scheme requirements without disrupting existing workflows.

By combining network tokens with PSP-issued tokens, via a centralised token vault, THG Ingenuity are now able to use the token type that offers the best performance for each individual transaction. BR-DGE Vault gives THG Ingenuity full interoperability, supporting a flexible, multi-acquirer approach, without being restricted by customer credentials that can only be used via one route. This allows the business to optimise performance and retain ownership of its token estate.

This partnership will also directly enhance the recently launched Checkout by THG Fulfil solution. As the global fulfilment solution within THG Ingenuity, THG Fulfil’s comprehensive checkout as a service (CaaS) removes the operational friction of international ecommerce, allowing brands to scale globally without compromising customer experience. It includes a conversion optimised checkout experience that seamlessly integrates with multiple payment providers and global MOR (Merchant of Record) automation with integrated tax, duty, and compliance management across 200+ markets. By leveraging BR-DGE Vault, the service will utilise network tokens across all transactions, significantly boosting payment authorisation rates and improving the overall customer experience. This advanced tokenisation technology further strengthens the Checkout solution’s industry-leading fraud protection and ensures that enterprise retailers benefit from higher acceptance rates and reduced friction at every stage of the payment process.

As a standalone solution, BR-DGE Vault brings different token types together in a single, secure service. This interoperability enables merchants to benefit from higher authorisation rates, reduced fraud and continuity of processing during peak trading.

Lifecycle updates for expired, lost or stolen cards further reduce declines, while Primary Account References (PAR) and device fingerprinting provide clearer insight into customer payment behaviour across THG Ingenuity’s platform.

Josh Butterworth, Head of Payments at THG Ingenuity, said: “We process millions of transactions every month across multiple brands and markets, so having secure, robust infrastructure is essential. BR-DGE Vault helps us simplify PCI compliance while improving authorisation rates and the customer experience. Just as importantly, it offers enhanced flexibility so our token strategy can easily evolve with our changing customer and business needs, all without disruption to our existing systems or customer experience.”

Thomas Gillan, CEO at BR-DGE, added: “We’re delighted to be working with THG Ingenuity. As one of the UK’s largest e-commerce groups, elevating authorisation rates and processing efficiency quickly translates into significant commercial value. BR-DGE Vault makes tokenisation interoperable, combining network and PSP tokens so merchants can optimise performance across providers while reducing PCI compliance overheads. For THG Ingenuity, that means greater control and reliability today, with the foundations to take advantage of further BR-DGE capabilities in the future.”

This latest partnership adds to BR-DGE’s growing roster of enterprise merchants, including global brands in travel, retail and gaming. The company’s vendor-agnostic platform processes millions of transactions each month, helping clients boost payment performance and resilience at scale.
