Mike Tyson Fronts Launch of Rain Trade’s User-Created Prediction Market Platform

Rain Trade Rain Trade

Launched during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Rain Trade lets users create their own prediction markets rather than relying on operator-selected events.

Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson has partnered with Rain Trade for the launch of its user-created prediction market platform. While traditional prediction markets are curated by the platform, Rain Trade introduces a different approach, betting that the future of prediction markets lies in user-created events rather than operator-curated questions

Launched during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the platform allows participants to create public or private prediction markets around sports, news, politics and other real-world events instead of choosing only from questions published by the platform itself. The company believes shifting market creation to users could broaden the range of available markets while allowing communities to forecast the topics they care about most.

The launch comes as prediction markets continue to gain attention as tools for gauging public sentiment and forecasting real-world outcomes. While most platforms curate the markets available for trading, Rain Trade is positioning itself around a more open, community-driven model.

From Traders to Market Creators

Rather than acting solely as traders, users can create their own markets, choose whether participation is public or invitation-only, and determine how those markets will be resolved.

The company says market creators earn a 1% share of the trading volume generated by their markets, while additional rewards are available for users who initiate market closures or submit accepted resolution outcomes. The model is designed to encourage users to contribute to the marketplace itself rather than simply trade within it.

Opening market creation to the community also introduces new operational considerations. As with any user-generated marketplace, maintaining clear market rules, reliable resolutions and consistent moderation will be essential as participation grows.

Rain Trade supports both AI-assisted and manual market resolution, allowing creators to choose how outcomes are determined depending on the type of market they create.

Simplifying the User Experience

Although built on blockchain infrastructure, Rain Trade aims to reduce much of the technical complexity associated with decentralized applications.

The platform sponsors transaction fees through account abstraction, removing the need for users to manage gas manually. It also supports funding accounts with assets held on Arbitrum, Ethereum, BNB Chain, Base and Bitcoin, automatically handling the required bridging and conversion into USDT.

These features are intended to lower the barriers to participating in prediction markets without requiring extensive blockchain experience.

Built on Rain Protocol

Rain Trade is the first consumer platform built on Rain Protocol, the decentralized infrastructure designed to support developers building prediction markets and forecasting applications.

The launch follows a reported commitment of more than $200 million from Enlivex alongside an additional $100 million allocation by Rain to support protocol liquidity and ecosystem growth.

According to Rain Protocol CEO Roy Shaham, the company’s objective is to move market creation away from platform operators and toward participating communities.

“Traditional prediction markets have operated with a backward mentality,” Shaham said. “They’ve historically focused on controlling what people can predict rather than giving them the opportunity to create markets themselves.”

Tyson, who partnered with Rain Trade for the launch, said the platform gives users a new way to create markets around the topics they care about while engaging with broader public opinion.

A Different Take on Prediction Markets

Celebrity campaigns may help attract early attention, but Rain Trade’s long-term success will likely depend on whether users embrace its community-driven model.

If adoption follows the company’s vision, the platform could expand prediction markets beyond operator-curated events and allow niche communities to build markets around subjects that traditional platforms might never list. At the same time, that openness places greater importance on transparent market rules, reliable settlement and effective moderation.

Rather than competing on the number of available markets, Rain Trade is betting that giving users the ability to create those markets themselves will become its defining advantage.
