Global financial markets are undergoing a transformation few would have anticipated a decade ago. Once dismissed as a niche experiment, Bitcoin has now recorded trading activity that exceeds some of the world’s most established corporate equities.

The data highlights how digital assets have moved firmly into the mainstream, competing directly with leading global companies for investor interest.

Research from the Techgaged team shows that between 22 August and 22 September 2025, Bitcoin achieved an average daily trading volume of around $20.8 billion. In comparison, Apple registered $13.1 billion during the same timeframe. This gives the cryptocurrency a 59% advantage in trading volume.

“This comparison highlights just how much liquidity Bitcoin commands today,” said Rokas B., Research Analyst at Techgaged. “While Apple remains a cornerstone of corporate finance, Bitcoin’s trading intensity shows that digital assets have become an unavoidable part of the global market conversation.”

The data also reflects the very different forces driving each asset. Bitcoin’s 24/7 global market thrives on speculation, regulatory news, and institutional entry, fueling high liquidity. Apple, meanwhile, continues to attract long-term shareholders, with recent headlines centered on its latest iPhone release, antitrust scrutiny, and supply chain performance.

A Signal for Institutional Investors

For professional investors, the findings highlight why Bitcoin is gaining traction within mainstream finance. High turnover and liquidity are critical features that allow large funds to allocate capital without distorting prices.

With Bitcoin now demonstrating stronger daily volume than Apple, it reinforces the case for broader institutional adoption — from ETFs to pension funds — and further cements its position as a permanent fixture in global capital markets.
