The word CE stands for Chile’s Economy. They have made a constitutional deal in congress.

On looking over the deal, the chief of Chile’s Economy is confident about the decision. Some of the information and points of the deal are as given below.

In an interview, the 39-year-old Economy Minister Nicolas Grau stated that international businesses are focused on the broad picture rather than the week-by-week intricacies of negotiations.

Grau stated this while accompanying President Gabriel Boric on a state visit to Mexico City. “Their bright perspective must be fulfilled,” Grau remarked. “Our administration has strong hopes that the congressionally based political parties will be able to agree.”

A proposed new constitution that would have increased minority rights and environmental protection while moderating the nation’s free-market principles was heavily rejected by Chileans in September. It was a setback to the Boric administration’s goals of ensuring social fairness and battling injustice.

Political parties have since discussed the best course of action for the charter amendments.

Chile’s government has high expectations from lawmakers to reach a consensus on changes to the constitution.

The function of an expert panel and other issues, such as the size and makeup of the body that would attempt to revise Chile’s fundamental laws, have slowed negotiations.

At one time, Carolina Toha, Chile’s interior minister, raised expectations that a deal would be reached before Chile’s Independence Day, which falls on September 18.

Legislators stated to the local media this week that it is improbable that they would be able to reach a compromise in November, two months after the fact.

Agenda For Productivity

Chile must take action to promote investment. Due to rising inflation and the benchmark interest rate, the GDP has declined in two of the last three quarters.

With new investment incentives and targeted aid, Boric has responded to the slump by bolstering the economy without raising consumer costs or straining the government’s finances. Additionally, the government offered congress of the country its top reform ideas for taxes and pensions.

According to Grau, who holds a degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania, the economy and finance ministries are now collaborating on suggestions to increase productivity.

Grau stated the government’s goal is to promote the manufacturing of items with value-added and increase tax revenue from Chile’s expanding lithium industry.

The projected state lithium firm in Chile is looking for a strategic partner. According to mining undersecretary Willy Kracht, a dozen interested corporations and nations have already been approached.

The most recent projections from the central bank predicted that Chile’s GDP would increase by 1.75 to 2.25% this year and then decline by as much as 1.5 per cent in 2023.
