Agents Unleashed: The Podcast Leading the Crypto x AI Conversation

Crypto x AI Crypto x AI

The most important conversations about AI today aren’t happening inside the walls of Big Tech – they’re happening in community spaces, open-source projects, and Telegram groups led by developers building co-owned agents on decentralized infrastructure. These builders have reshaped what intelligence can be, but until now, they haven’t had a consistent place to tell their stories.

That’s why the launch of the Agents Unleashed Podcast marks a defining moment for the AI agent ecosystem. Created by Olas and hosted by Thomas Maybrier, this weekly show is designed for anyone curious about the convergence of crypto and AI. The podcast explores how coordination protocols, open-agent frameworks, and user-owned systems are reshaping what intelligence looks like in a decentralized future. More than that, it’s building a consistent space for conversation in a field that’s evolving faster than most people can keep up with.

From Global Events to Global Dialogue

The podcast builds on the momentum of Olas’s wildly popular Agents Unleashed event series. Since early 2024, the series has traveled to seven major cities: Denver, Berlin, Brussels, San Francisco, Singapore, Bangkok, and Cannes – bringing together over 5,000 registrants. These gatherings have served as launchpads for new ideas and collaborations, attracting engineers, researchers, founders, and investors all interested in one thing: unlocking the full potential of autonomous agents.

The most recent edition, held during ETHCannes, was the largest Agents Unleashed event ever, with 828 attendees in person, breaking the record for the highest number of attendees on event day for all Agents Unleashed events. Cannes had almost double the attendees in person compared to previous events. With 2,629 registrations, it was the biggest Crypto x AI side event in EthCC Cannes.

That’s where the podcast comes in. By distilling the most relevant updates, interviews, and product demos into a weekly format, the podcast ensures that the energy of the global agent community doesn’t just spike at conferences – it compounds year-round.

“The podcast covers the latest developments in AI (centralized and decentralized) and spotlights founders in the Web3 space building AI agents,” said David Minarsch, CEO of Valory and founding member of Olas. “We already observe that the podcast is used as a source of information by users in the Olas ecosystem.”

A Signal in the Noise

In a world flooded with AI hype, the Agents Unleashed podcast is refreshingly grounded. It’s not a vanity project or a content play – it’s a forum for real builders and researchers to talk about coordination and autonomy. While most AI podcasts chase trends, this one focuses on the deep systems shaping the future.

Its first episode, “Builder’s Night Wrap-Up,” offered a behind-the-scenes view of ETHDenver’s crypto x AI convergence. The second, “User-Owned AI: Where We’re At, Where We’re Going,” featured Minarsch sharing the broader vision for open agent economies.

While grounded in technical ideas, it’s built for the “crypto x AI curious” – people who want to stay ahead of what’s happening but don’t have time to sift through Twitter threads and GitHub updates. “AI progress is so fast that it’s hard to stay on top of what’s hype and what has substance,” Minarsch added. “The podcast tries to break it down by covering noteworthy announcements and trialing live products.”

In doing so, Agents Unleashed Podcast offers something rare in the space: clarity without compromise.

More Than Talk: A Window into Real Systems

The podcast isn’t just documenting ideas – it’s rooted in a live, growing ecosystem. Olas, the protocol behind the show, has already facilitated over 7 million on-chain transactions, supported 3.8 million agent-to-agent interactions, and powers 500 daily active agents across its network.

Much of this activity centers around Pearl, Olas’s desktop app that allows users to launch and own AI agents. These agents tap into Olas’s decentralized marketplace (Mech) to coordinate with other agents and complete user-defined objectives, like trading, research, or forecasting.

“Every additional user of Pearl’s AI agents becomes a user of the Olas protocol and specifically its marketplace,” Minarsch explained. “In Olas Predict, for example, the users’ prediction agents use other agents’ services on the marketplace to predict the future.”

That type of autonomous interaction is what distinguishes agent economies from centralized APIs. It also presents new challenges, especially in areas such as onboarding, developer experience, and education.

“As core contributors to Olas, we’re focused on improving the user experience for Pearl users to make it Web2-like and frictionless,” Minarsch said. “We’re also scaling the marketplace by improving the DevX for third parties to monetise their agents on the marketplace.”

The Agents Unleashed Podcast plays a role in solving those challenges. It helps new users understand what’s possible, introduces developers to emerging tools, and makes the value of user-owned agents tangible.

Olas’s own products, like Olas Predict and BabyDegen, are already showcasing how agentic coordination can unlock new forms of productivity. Through the podcast, the team plans to explore not only internal projects but also a growing list of third-party AI agents in the Web3 space.

“We’re excited to cover any development that overlaps with the focus of the show,” said Minarsch. “In the near term, this will involve diving into a number of non-Olas AI agents in Web3.”

So, whether you’re developing agents, curious about crypto-native AI, or just exploring what’s beyond ChatGPT, Agents Unleashed podcast offers a rare kind of clarity in a noisy field.
